Anyone up for some music therapy?

I loved creating my pensive playlist, and my uplifting playlist, so, here’s another one. It seems like this trend is here to stay. This time it’s about the feeling behind the music. All these tracks make me feel something, they move me in some way. Maybe they’ll do the same for you.

I’m listening to this exact playlist on Spotify as I type this. This one is a personal playlist, because each of these songs have featured at different times in my life. Music is like that — it really does create a soundtrack for living. These tracks appeared when I needed them to, and held me through times I was reaching for a lifeline.

I remember listening to Keep On Wanting, by The Fray, on one of my return trips from the US. Sitting in the airport, I can picture exactly where I was. Facing a wall of windows, staring out, playing the song on repeat, because I just couldn’t get enough of it.

“Everybody feels locked out of a house they can’t get in,” were the lyrics that intrigued me the most, because I could relate to them, even though I wasn’t even sure at the time what they meant.

Airports are interesting places. They always make me feel vulnerable. Being suspended between places, and struggling to function through a curtain of jet lag, it’s no wonder they make me emotional. At the time, this song, encapsulated all of my strong emotions, and to this day, listening to it brings me right back to those airport benches.

What I love about this playlist is that each song has its own unique set of memories attached to it. And each time I listen to any of these, it transports me to a different time and place. The one thing they have in common is that they each move me in some way, or make me feel something. Have a listen, if you wish, and let me know if any of these do the same, or something similar for you.
