Nearly 10 years ago, I hired a young web designer that I found through Gumtree, paid him $100 to design a site, and launched a website called Happiness Letters.
And now, I’m bringing Happiness Letters back, just in a different way.
The idea was born out of my own love of handwritten letters. I wanted to take that passion and spread the joy to anyone in need of a bit of empathy, motivation or reassurance.
The original Happiness Letters were matte printed cards on thick card stock, that slid easily into a standard envelope.
I charged $5 for those cards, sold a few through Etsy and my site, but eventually, my site expired, I couldn’t reach the web designer guy who set it up, and the idea fizzled out slowly, too.
I still have some cards, though — 48 of them, in fact. And I want to bring Happiness Letters back, but this time without any cost to the letter receiver.
Please share this post if you know anyone at all* who might appreciate a handwritten letter with their name on it, sent in the mail the good old fashioned way. You can nominate to send one to a friend, family member — or yourself! Just send me a message through my contact page here, or PM me on Facebook or Insta.
Let’s do this!
